The Modern Whig Party was started up by veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. The first national chairman was Mike Lebowitz.

The general background is that we are Americans first and foremost and Whigs second. We are a very diverse group, as diverse as America is. We still have and will work to maintain a strong veteran and active duty military membership within the party. However, the Modern Whig Party is not a veteran’s o active duty only party.

We have two versions of the owl logo that we use. The official logo is the owl that is at the top left hand corner of the webpage. The secondary owl uses the same color scheme. However, this owl is diving down with wings spread out and claws extended like it going after a mouse to eat.

For 2012 the Whigs are not looking to support a candidate for President by themselves. To do so at this point would be a waste of resources that we could use to support multiple candidates for other state and federal offices. However, we are looking into the possibility of supporting a Whig Presidential candidate and working to get that candidate elected via Americans Elect. If this does not happen the Whigs will not be supporting a Presidential candidate in 2012. If you are seriously considering running for President in 2012 or later please email the national chairman.
