Hey guys new member from Southside VA, I'm coming the the Whigs from a somewhat Libetarian viewpoint but mostly because I'm sick of the two dominant parties' rhetoric and their inability to compromise and get things done. Look forward to chatting with you all!

I've known about the Whigs for quite some time but I've been trying to work within the existing system. I'm an experienced staffer of political campaigns in southeast Louisiana on the local level.
I've worked in a volunteer coordinator role, fundraising and social media.

Fellow Whigs, Ive read several blogs and forum topics here, thought provoking all, yet none get me as worked up as the topic of same-sex marriage. Id like to, if I may, discuss this topic in further detail.

DOMA, the Defence of Marriage Act, is a United States federal law that defines marriage as the legal union of one man and one woman and further, Section 3 of DOMA codifies the non-recognition of same-sex marriage for all federal purposes, including insurance benefits for government employees, Social Security survivors' benefits, and the filing of joint tax returns.

Another general question to the assembly at large....how many
subject material experts does the MWP have at large? Let's face it....
we have a lot of work ahead of us and there is a certain amount of credibility that we need (the term "street cred' comes to mind).

I want to know how many of us have significant experience in those avenues of critical skills that will help to ensure total and blinding success in the election

Hello everyone! My name is David Wilson. I was born and raised in the great state of Florida. I am a political science/education major working on my BA. Politics have always interested me, to the point of asking difficult to answer questions of my parents at a far to young to understand age. With the recent birth of the Occupy Movement, my political efficacy has sustained what I like to refer to as "major reconstructive maintainance". I have always considered myself to be a liberal, but I was never sure what that really ment.

A question to those who support Andre Barnett:

I did a quick review of his blog and noticed that he is getting fair attention and
apparent backing from Tea party folks, larger Christian conservative groups, etc. Now, where does the concept and practical applications of methodology is > than ideology within the basis tenets of the MWP come into play in terms of backing from a Centrist organization, i.e MWP?

Long-time Democrat and self-identified radical moderate. My GOP friends think I'm a liberal, my Democratic friends think I'm a conservative. Maybe I belong here?

As I signed in today, was greeted by the above. Can't say I am pleased with my level of contribution to the cause yet, but its been a honor to "stand side by side" with so many kindred spirits! I am heartened that so many here "get it". Makes it obvious that the massive task, the mission, we are endeavoring is do-able with dilligence and patient attention. Thank you ALL for stepping up to protect the very thing I love most, and to help ensure it remains intact for our future generations!

Since 2011, nine states have passed strict new photo identification requirements while two dozen others have introduced legislation that would require voters to show a picture ID card to vote. Other states have 

passed laws that shorten an early voting period and make it tougher to register.
