My name is Pat MacGuire. I am a Whig! Today I registered the Whig Party of Massachusetts with the Secretary of State's Office, as a non-profit political organization. I took all of the other immediately required steps with the IRS and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Several Whigs in Massachusetts have been trying, without any success, to contact the listed State Party Chairman. Encouraged by Whig leadership in other states I decided to complete all of the steps which should have been done a long time ago. I was more than a little dismayed to discover that NONE of them had been done. To register the party as a corporation I had to name myself in an executive position. I am hoping to change that soon. I am looking for Whigs in Massachusetts to get on board. We need to decide on a party leadership which is responsive, responsible and proactive. Over the next week or so I am going to see that we get some kind of webpage and maybe a phone number up and running, but I am more than ready to turn this all over to someone who is more centrally located in the state. We also have a new Facebook page. The old Facebook page seems to be inactive. The new one is at:   https://www.facebook.com/modernwhigsofma . Thank you for your support.

Pat, thank you for stepping up - you self appointed power hungry....! ;)   Hey, most of us are indeed self-appointed and our mission, ironically, is to build a state org big enough to have internal elections so we lose our job!

Reach out to me anytime you need. We're past the basic org phase in NY and now I am stumbling through building a presence here and a state wide org as well as ACTIVELY seeking my replacement!  ;)
