Michael Burger brings years of leadership experience in political parties to the Modern Whig Party. Michael has served as the former Minnesota Whig chair and Northern Regional Coordinator and National Vice Chair.
Gene is a charter member of the Modern Whig Party, having participated in our first National Convention in Arlington VA in 2009. He also served as our first National Treasurer helping to legally establish our party. He currently serves as both New York Chair and Northeastern Region chair. Gene is a native of Rochester NY and was schooled at Syracuse University where he earned a M.A. from the Maxwell School in International Political Economy. Gene has also lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights and now resides outside of Buffalo.
The Northern Region Coordinator and National Vice Chair is John Oberdorf. The following states are part of the Northern Region: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
David resides in San Francisco, CA and has been a business owner operator for the past 30 years. He spent many years as the president of a real estate mortgage company and currently is the president and shareholder of a solar power sales and installation company in San Francisco.
He has written numerous articles, hosted a local radio program, personally trained over a 1000 sales people and managed a staff of nearly 100 people in his companies in California.
Hooper is a father of three living in Western Kentucky. A former business owner, Hooper survived a nearly-terminal illness, selling his business and re-entering college to pursue a nursing degree to help people the way he was helped. When not studying or working with his family, he spends his time as an avid skydiver.
David Ervin is a native of North Carolina. David is a graduate from East Carolina University with a B.S. in Biology. He has worked in the pharmaceutical industry and also in agriculture. David enjoys reading, sports and hard work. David is glad to work with the Whigs as he wants to be a part of making America better.
The Veterans Affairs Assistance Committee of the Modern Whig Party exists to help Whig veteran members and veterans who are not members with veterans’ issues. The committee will organize the Modern Whig Party response to difficulties that veterans may be having with their benefits or any other veteran issues. The Committee will also help veterans’ families as well. The Veterans Affairs Assistance Committee also is able to help active duty military as well as their families.
Joe Brown, CISSP, was elected as a National Executive Committee Member-At-Large in 2014. He ran for congress in Missouri in 2012, and is currently the State Chairman of the Modern Whig Party of Missouri. Mr. Brown was also elected as our Party’s Director of Internet Operations in 2014 where he oversees the Modern Whig website and other Internet operations.
The Director of the Roundtables is responsible for overseeing the Whig Roundtables. Responsibilities include being the head moderator of the Roundtables and making sure that the Roundtables run smoothly and the procedures of the Roundtables are followed.
The Director of the Whig Academy is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Whig Academy on a day to day and week to week basis. The Whig Academy offers free training to citizens and Whig members in running for office, leadership, communication, and the Modern Whig philosophy.
Jim began his career in electronics in 1973 after leaving the Navy and has been involved with the Internet in some fashion since the mid 1980s. His resume includes being Computer Products Division Manager and Lead Software Architect. Jim previously served as the Modern Whig Party's Director of Internet Operations overseeing the Modern Whig website and other Internet operations.
B.J. Ellis is the Social Media Director, and manages the National Social Media Project Team of the Modern Whig Party of America. This position is not a National Executive Committee position. The Social Media Project team is part of the National Media and Public Relations Committee.
