NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The members of the Executive Committee assist in the operation and promotion of the Modern Whig Party. In addition, the Executive Committee works with local members in the 50 states as our party continues to grow. Based on their efforts, the party since 2007 has seen a drastic growth of several thousand members. It also should be noted that in keeping with the values and tradition of the Modern Whig Party, at least one member of the executive committee will always be a military veteran, Reservist/Guardsman or military spouse.

NATIONAL CHAIRMAN
Mike Lebowitz

The chairman of the Modern Whig Party was selected in 2007 to lead the reinvigoration of this centuries-old party. Mr. Lebowitz is uniquely qualified for this position based on his professional esteem and service to our country. In 2005-2006, he served in Iraq as a paratrooper with the elite Pathfinder Company of the 101st Airborne Division. Currently, he is a noted attorney with the Washington, DC law firm of Greenberg & Lieberman. As an expert in military law, he often represents service members and veterans in private practice, and has testified to separate US House and Senate panels as a legal expert on subjects such as the Military Whistleblower Act. In addition, Mr. Lebowitz serves part-time as a JAG officer in the Virginia Army National Guard. He is known as an advocate for our military veterans and has organized major events in this regard. In addition, he is active with his local VFW post. He also is an award-winning journalist and has spent a considerable amount of time in the field of media and legal reform in places such as East Africa and the Middle East.

David Knight

Mr. Knight is a published author and historian. An attorney based out of New York City, he is active in international dispute resolution and human rights law, and has provided legal assistance in the Khmer Rouge war crimes trials at the Extraordinary Chambers of the Courts of Cambodia and legal aid initiatives in Liberia. In keeping with our tradition, Knight has experience as an Army officer and currently serves in the National Guard. Additionally, he administers the website.

Alaska

Alaska Chairman Joel Dolphin is an infantryman in the U.S. Army with a keen sense for family, our country and our military. He is currently inactive until he returns home next year from combat duties overseas. The National Party recognizes Mr. Dolphin as a true patriot and for his succesful effort in assisting in lobbying the U.S. Senate to help grant a former basic training colleague our nation's highest honor -- the Congressional Medal of Honor. Mr. Dolphin is expected to take the reins of the Alaska Chapter before July 2009.

Arkansas

Arkansas Chairman Jacob Cooke has served in the Army Reserves since 1997. He is a veteran of Iraq where he spent time in Fallujah. While the Arkansas Chapter has adopted most of the national party's issues, their official stance on the Iraq issue differs in that they state that U.S. forces must remain committed to Iraq until the Iraqis can govern and police themselves in an environment free of terrorist groups.

California

California Chairman (emeritus) Allen A. Baumann is a retired Army officer. He had an impressive military career where he served, among other items, as a special forces officer in Vietnam and company commander at the 101st Airborne Division. The military tradition carried on to his son, who is a retired Lt. Colonel and a veteran of Iraq. While working with the Modern Whig Party in his civilian capacity and not as a retired officer, Mr. Baumann is in support of a "Warrior Diploma" program for veterans of conflicts such as WWII, Korea and Vietnam that seeks to award diplomas to those veterans that left high school to join the service and ultimately did not receive a diploma.

California Acting Deputy Chairman Andy Trinidad holds a master’s degree in international business administration. In addition, he is the son of a WW II veteran. Andy has been involved in political campaigns at the local level and also has been an advocate of the Filipino American Veteran’s Equity Act.  Andy currently works for the County of Los Angeles.

Florida

The Florida Chapter was the first to register the revitalized Whig Party with a state Division of Elections under the direction of past chairman Jeremy McShurley, whose administration ended on January 12, 2009. The current Chairman of the Florida Whig Party is Paul Grant Truesdell, J.D., AIF, President of Truesdell Consulting, Inc, a multi-faceted media and business development firm established in 1986. Mr. Truesdell has participated in a broad range of national and local political activities in Wisconsin and Florida. He also has spoken extensively throughout Florida on estate planning and asset protection. Mr. Truesdell's urban law enforcement and investigative experience during the 1970s and 1980s has been instrumental in his business and political endeavors and was the initial connection with Mr. Henry DeGeneste. Mr. DeGeneste serves as Vice Chairman of the Florida Whig Party and is the Vice President of Risk Management & Chair of the Security Intelligence Board for iJet Intelligent Risk Systems. Mr. DeGeneste also is the Managing Partner at Security Directors Advisory Group, was previously the Vice President of Global Security for Prudential Financial, and retired after 23 years as Director of Public Safety and Superintendent of Police at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Georgia

Georgia Chairman Robert Madayag, a US Navy submarine veteran, is a registered patent attorney with a national intellectual property boutique law firm. His practice primarily focuses on patent prosecution and portfolio development and licensing. His practice reaches a variety of technical areas including computer software, telecommunications, chemical /electrical / mechanical engineering, and business methods. Robert joined and volunteered to spearhead the effort in Georgia because of need to be part of a political party not beholden to the extreme right or left, but one that represents the needs and beliefs of most of America..

Hawaii

Illinois

Illinois Chairman Jesse Corray was born and raised in central Illinois. Mr. Corray is a Marine Corps veteran where he served in numerous duty locations to include Japan and Australia. He also volunteered for deployment to the Middle East with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Upon separating from the Marine Corps, Mr. Corray has continued to work as a project infrastructure coordinator in Bloomington, IL. He is a devoted husband and father, and has a clear and concise plan to build the Modern Whig Party in his home state.

Indiana Chairman Jeremy McShurley is a graduate of Ball State University. Although he continues to reside and call the Hoosier State home, Jeremy also holds the distinction of being the founder of the Florida Whig Party, an affiliate of the Modern Whig Party that has achieved ballot access.

Maryland Chairman Colin Bisasky resides in Sykesville where he has lived since age 9.  A son of a Vietnam veteran, he is a graduate of Liberty High School in Eldersburg, MD (Class of 1996) and Carroll Community College in Westminster.  He is attending UMBC part time and is majoring in Business Technology Administration. Despite changing his major from Political Science, Colin still takes an active interest in politics, history and international relations, especially those of the Middle East (he is currently learning Arabic).  Colin ran for the Carroll County Board of Education in the 1998 primary (at age 20), earning 1,801 votes,, and has since worked on a state delegate’s campaign which was successful.  Colin considers himself to be a political moderate; formerly Republican before coming to the Modern Whig Party.

Missouri Chairman George Mills is an aviator in the Missouri Army National Guard. He also is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having served from May 2006 to August 2007. He is currently a full time student. He plans to major in Aerospace engineering and minor in political science. He loves politics, foreign affairs and debates. He is also married and currently resides in Southwest Missouri As a Modern Whig, he plans to reach out to people who want to make a difference in the state of Missouri and our country.

New York Chairman Gene Chaas  is a native of Rochester NY and schooled at Syracuse University where he earned a M.A. from the Maxwell School in International Political Economy. Gene has lived in Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights and now resides outside of Buffalo. Gene served in the U.S Army Intelligence Corps during the mid 1980’s. Gene holds the designation of a Chartered Financial Analyst and is the manager of an investment firm. He and his wife Michelle, an attorney, are raising two sons. Gene also is active in Rotary, a working musician, charter member of the Western NY Biodiesel Partnership, founding member of the Can Am Chevelle Club,  a member of Safari Club International, a Cubmaster, and frequent visitor to the shooting range at his local gun club.

North Carolina

Acting Chairman Nicholas Hensley is a student from Raleigh, North Carolina working toward a Master's Degree in Economics. As a resident of North Carolina for the past fourteen years, Nick has learned a lot about issues pertaining to his state. Before becoming a member of the Modern Whig Party, Nick was a member of the Reform Party, which gave him valuable experience in third party politics.

North Carolina Deputy Chairman John Moore II is a golf professional in Raleigh. He has a history degree from North Carolina State University and has demonstrated a firm and realistic grasp of the political situation both within the state and nationally. Formerly a Republican before registering as unaffiliated, Mr. Moore brings extensive knowledge and ideas to the Modern Whig Party.

Ohio

Ohio Chapter Chairman Larry Carver has served both the nation and community for virtually his entire professional career. A disabled Army veteran, Mr. Carver was born and raised on a beef farm in Portage County. After retiring from the military, he immediately began serving as a teacher and basketball coach in the Akron Public Schools. He also holds a Masters in Secondary Education. In addition, Mr. Carver is active with his church as well as  with his teacher's union. He also serves part time as a deputy sheriff. Moreover, as a member of the NRA, Mr. Carver owns a small gunsmith shop where he specializes in restoring antique firearms. He also is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, The Retired Enlisted Association and the Fraternal Order of Police.

The Ohio Deputy Chairwoman is Nikki Gardner. She holds a masters degree and is an experienced teacher in Northeast Ohio. Ms. Gardner is currently inactive with the party as we await her return from a second deployment to Iraq. Ms. Gardner has served our country as a member of the Army Reserves since 1995.

Pennsylvania Chairman Scott Rutkowski was born in Pottstown, PA and graduated from St. Pius X High School. He then went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Management. He has worked in management in the healthcare dietary services field for over 19 years. He and his wife have four children and currently reside in York. I has been an active member of the Republican Party and contributed election strategies for local and state levels.

Tennessee

Acting Tennessee Chairman Jerry Barker currently lives in Clarksville, just a few miles from Fort Campbell. Jerry's life story is inexorably intertwined with the United States Army, starting with his birth at Fort Campbell, home of the 101st Airborne Division. Like the military base, Jerry also claims both Kentucky and Tennessee as his home state, and spent a significant portion of his growing years split between the two states. Shortly after completing high school, Jerry joined the Army and for the next 20 years of his life traveled the world. Jerry spent that time filling many diverse occupational roles, ranging from machinist to heavy transport to information technology. This time also sharply focused many of Jerry's views on how fragile freedom is and the inherent dangers of complacency. Watching North Korean combat soldiers at the DMZ or traveling in communist East Germany, before the Wall came down, put him face to face with what could be without eternal vigilance.

While in Korea, Jerry bided his time corresponding with a pen pal from back home, well before the easy communications of the Internet and instant messaging. After completing that tour Jerry met his pen pal face to face for the first time, and 25 days later they married. Jane and Jerry are still happily married, and now have two grown children with both still living in the Clarksville area. Jane accompanied Jerry around the country and around the world to various duty assignments, and they are, as they have been since first meeting, inseparable.

Shortly after retiring from the Army, Jerry opened a small computer repair shop in his basement to provide honest and reliable service to the soldiers at Fort Campbell and surrounding communities. The business quickly outgrew the basement, and has since grown into an information technology powerhouse chain of stores now known as Computer Wizards, Inc., providing a multitude of services to the Clarksville-Hopkinsville MSA and surrounding areas. Simultaneously, Jerry graduated Magna Cum Laude earning a Bachelor in Business Administrative degree from Austin Peay State University. During this time he was also instrumental in establishing a local branch of the Better Business Bureau by serving as chairman for the local BBB board for two years. Tangible and measurable support for the community has also been important to Jerry, an example being the donation of a full week's worth of man-hours by nearly all of the Computer Wizards technicians to help build a community playground, with Jerry also lending a helping hand. Practical, common-sense solutions have always been a part of Jerry's life, and he now wants to see that same American value system applied to solving our nation's very real and significant issues. Jerry believes that the Modern Whig Party is the only party capable of leading this nation to once again fulfilling its potential

Texas Chairman Brian Staley is an established attorney based in Houston. Mr. Staley also has served our country with honor due to his professional experience with the Central Intelligence Agency. Along with Treasurer and Fort Bend County Chairman Steve Parsons, the Texas Chapter of the Modern Whig Party has demonstrated excellent and insightful political knowledge.
