- Who We Are
- Speak Up!
- Take Action
Welcome to this week's 'Director's Report', a weekly update on the Modern Whig Party's activities across the nation. This is James "Ryan" Egnor-Keil, the current Executive Director.
This week has been a trying one, from ending my term as a Substitute Teacher to packing up and taking a roadtrip out to Boise, Idaho for a week of wedding arrangements. In my travels, I've had the opportunity to see the stark beauty of open fields, towering mountains, and a light blue sky that seems to stretch towards an infinite horizon. It reminded me that we all live in the land of freedom and opportunity, and if it ever seems otherwise, then you have a job to do.
This past week has seen a few more prospects for new state affiliates, as well as some Whigs announcing their interest in running for office in the 2013-2014 election cycle. My office will continue to work hard to coordinate ballot access and candidate development, as well as provide assistance to the national Modern Whig movement as it begins to pick itself up and make paces forward.
Keep an eye out for some new Modern Whig signage in the Member Action Center under the 'Take Action' tab!
Also, be on the lookout for an upcoming initiative, the Modern Whig Street Team, which is currently under development.
This past weekend also marked the introduction of one of a series of new initiatives the office is releasing, called Whig Weekend. Every weekend, a new challenge will be put out to all Modern Whigs to complete by the end of the weekend. Whigs that have done so are encouraged to share their experience, whether through this website, on the Modern Whig Facebook page, or on Twitter with the hash tag #whigweekend. This weekend's challenge was to introduce someone to the Modern Whig Party, what we believe and what we do. During my travels, I've been speaking with a few fellow Americans about the Party. Whether or not they register as Whigs is up to them, but the name is at least in their minds.

Will there be a brainstorming forum anywhere that other Whigs can suggest Whig Weekend tasks?
How can non-tweeting Whigs stay updated on these tasks?
